The Joey Logano Foundation Donates $22,000 to the Christian McCaffrey Foundation's ‘The Logan Project’
Foundation donates to program providing gaming consoles to children’s hospitals in an effort to connect children with their favorite athletes
Joey Logano, professional race car driver and two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion, recently announced that the Joey Logano Foundation will be partnering with the Christian McCaffrey Foundation’s The Logan Project. Logano’s Foundation launched the partnership with a $22,000 donation.
The Logan Project, launched in July of 2022, honors Logan Hale, a Christian McCaffrey and Carolina Panthers fan who lost his battle with childhood cancer in late 2021. The project raises funds to place specialized gaming consoles in children’s hospitals to connect kids with athletes they admire.
On July 18th, McCaffrey visited the Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, donating 9 new gaming consoles. The Joey Logano Foundation’s donation has allowed for a new NASCAR themed console to be the hospital’s latest addition.
Logano commented, “Joining forces with Christian McCaffrey on The Logan Project felt like a natural fit for the Joey Logano Foundation, as our primary focus is to help children and young adults during times of crisis. The idea of connecting with children in hospitals through a video game interaction is great because we can reach so many children through this virtual meet-up. Levine Children’s Hospital is right in our backyard, so it feels good to start here, with high hopes of expanding into more cities nationwide."
An Atrium Health Levine Children’s spokesperson commented, “We are so thankful for the support of our community members who work to help kids going through difficult medical challenges. Nobody wants to be in the hospital and it’s especially tough on children, so these video games truly make a difference for them. This generous donation from the Logan Project enhances their hospital experience by allowing our patients the opportunity to still be kids, which is such an important part of the care and healing process.”
